but seriously, that picture of asami and mako went from 200 notes to 1k+ as I blinked
Just wanted to point out something I noticed upon rewatching this episode. When the two of them wake up, their eyes go in totally different places. Both Mako and Korra are shocked, but if you notice, Mako’s eyes go straight to her arms rather than her eyes- he is more freaked out by the fact that Korra’s arm is basically a projectile missile that could launch him and his face into space more than the fact that she was sleeping on his shoulder. In effect, he is more freaked out that sheis freaking out than he is by the situation. He is otherwise totally in control. Korra, the crazy girl who happens to be the avatar and likes touching his arm all the time slept on his shoulder? No big. As long as she doesn’t punch him in the face.
Korra, on the other hand, looks right at his eyes because she cannot believe what the fuck is going on. Being such a physical person, her immediate response is to react aggressively but then she realizes it’s that handsome firebender boy that drives her crazy and she’s like “wait. wtf. wait wtf wtf wtf wait did I just sleep on his shoulder?! aaaaaaaah”. She is totally out of her element and flustered and since she’s not exactly the thinking type, almost attacks him and then jumps back because OMGIT’SMAKO. Almost no control whatsoever.
