Honestly, when I saw this, this is the first image that sprung to my mind.
Amon and The Lieutenant
Sometimes I wonder how the Lieutenant and Amon met each other.
Like, did the Lieutenant lose his job to a “more qualified” worker (i.e. bender) and despondently go to some shady Republic City bar where he met Amon, and while talking over a drink Amon was all “So hey I’m going to start this revolution and I need a main henchman/sidekick to help me scare the shit out of people, you in?” And the Lieutentant was all “Fuck yes, a permanent job? I’m in. Can we start with the bastard who stole my job?”
Or perhaps they met in college and the Lieutenant was this engineering student and Amon was studying Poli Sci and was a part of the debate team and the Lieutenant was a massive fanboy and all like “Hey man I really respect you and I totally want to be your friend” and Amon was all “fuck off”” at first but then the Lieutenant showed him his electrical rod invention and Amon was like “Hmm this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”
Or maybe the Lieutenant is like Harley Quinn and knew every intimate detail about Amon from the very beginning as he learns about the Equalist mission and then just suddenly appears in his den one day and offers to help him in his mission in exchange for sex.
Or going with the theory that Amon isn’t completely human- the Lieutenant might have started out this haunted genius with a violent streak who could talk to spirits and hated what was happening to the balance of the city and was developing all of these technologies with no way to implement them and then one day Amon appeared in front of him and said, “I am the solution. Join me.”

but seriously, that picture of asami and mako went from 200 notes to 1k+ as I blinked
Just wanted to point out something I noticed upon rewatching this episode. When the two of them wake up, their eyes go in totally different places. Both Mako and Korra are shocked, but if you notice, Mako’s eyes go straight to her arms rather than her eyes- he is more freaked out by the fact that Korra’s arm is basically a projectile missile that could launch him and his face into space more than the fact that she was sleeping on his shoulder. In effect, he is more freaked out that sheis freaking out than he is by the situation. He is otherwise totally in control. Korra, the crazy girl who happens to be the avatar and likes touching his arm all the time slept on his shoulder? No big. As long as she doesn’t punch him in the face.
Korra, on the other hand, looks right at his eyes because she cannot believe what the fuck is going on. Being such a physical person, her immediate response is to react aggressively but then she realizes it’s that handsome firebender boy that drives her crazy and she’s like “wait. wtf. wait wtf wtf wtf wait did I just sleep on his shoulder?! aaaaaaaah”. She is totally out of her element and flustered and since she’s not exactly the thinking type, almost attacks him and then jumps back because OMGIT’SMAKO. Almost no control whatsoever.
