So the rules of blog popularity that seem to apply for Fat Birds don’t seem to apply at all for this blog. Over there, if I post a gifset or a popular songbird, I usually get about 250-500 new followers within a few hours and throughout the day.
If I post a gifset here of cute animals or an interesting scene from a movie or of a festival- they get tons and tons of reblogs but no new followers whatsover.
And I wonder if that has to do with what happens after I make a post on either of these respective blogs. With Fat Birds, I already have a huge audience, so people know they’re reblogging from me and more often than not, they keep the text commentary. However, with my gifsets from here, all the commentary tends to get stripped- even if it’s explanatory- and so nobody ever clicks on the source! Which is why I have a gifset on this blog with 22k reblogs and my newest one, which isn’t even 12 hours old with over 1.2k, and less than 500 followers, whereas Fat Birds gone from 30,800 to almost 31500 over the past few days thanks to some strategic fat songbird posts.
It doesn’t really bother me, but I do find the way it works very interesting.
